Camera translation for signs, menus and documents

Hold the phone up to the text in front of you — a station board, a menu, a medicine label, a form. Dilinga reads it, detects the language and lays the translation over the original, line by line, so you never look away from the sign to read it.

Dilinga is coming very soon to the App Store and Google Play. Write to [email protected] and we will tell you the day it opens. Ask about Dilinga →

Translate, then ask

Reading a sign is often not enough: you want to know where the train goes or which dish has no meat. Switch from translation to Ask and the same photograph answers your questions — what it says, what it means, what to do next.

What it reads

  • Street, station and shop signs
  • Restaurant menus and product labels
  • Forms, letters and printed documents

Privacy

The camera is only used while you are on the camera screen. Text is recognised on the device where the platform allows it. Photos used for translation and Ask are processed to answer that request and are not kept in your profile.

Questions

Do I have to choose the language of the sign?

No. Dilinga detects the language it is looking at.

Does camera translation need the other person to have Dilinga?

No. Camera translation and Ask work on your phone alone.
